App of the Day: Photo Math

Photo math is a mobile math app created by Microblink. It is used primarily to check answers for a particular math problem. Many math students may struggle with homework which they are unable to understand. They are unable to ask their teacher since they are at home, and are unable to check their answer because there is no answer in the back. This application allows students to hover their camera over their question, in order to find out the steps to the answer.
The problem with Photo Math is that it cannot be used with written questions, but only with computer-typed questions. This is something that could be worked on in the future, as it is still a relatively new application.
Even though it is homework help mobile application, Photo Math can still be used in the classroom. Students doing work out of the textbook in class can always check their steps and solution in class while doing their work. A lot of online applications cost money in order to provide services like this, but applications like Photo Math and even Math42 are completely free of cost!
Students are now able to do their questions with ease knowing they will be able to check their answers (if their questions are typed out!).
